Fermented Duck Food
Posted On May 2, 2021
This winter I tried fermenting my ducks food. I’d read that it has benefits for their digestion and nutrient absorption. To be honest I’m still not sure if that’s true as it took multiple tries and a lot of chipping frozen food our of their pan before they ate enough for me to tell, and as it turned out I made too much and the food rotted in the end. I’ve seen people storing whole bins of this but I still don’t understand how they do that.
These are my first fowl of ant kind so the learning curve is hard, but I’m working on getting better with them a little every day.

How many ducks did you start with?
Started with three which is apparently the minimum number required to stave off depression in the flock, but we’re hoping to get to 9 ducks, with a few quail and pheasants.
